Making the dramatic transition from London to Nottingham and starting a teaching job at the city’s College of Arts & Crafts made me re-think much of my previous work. My interest in the surface and construction of each work remained, but I became fascinated by the relationship between artistic illusion and reality. I also became interested in the ways in which a piece of art relates to the space where it’s exhibited.
